BODY EQUIPMENT VENTILATING WINGS A new safety lock on the ventilating wings in the door windows makes it difficult to break into tour car through these wings. After closing the wing, turn the latch handle down. When it clicks, turn the button-screw clockwise until it is tight. Now the latch cannot be pulled up. To open the wing, turn the button-screw counterclockwise to the end of thread, then press the button and lift the latch. REAR VIEW MIRROR - The position of the inside rear view mirror may be adjusted to suit the height of the driver by rotating it 1/2 turn and then raising or lowering to suit. LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT You will find the luggage compartment unusually roomy. Lifting the compartment lid is made easy by counterbalanced springs in the lid hinge. The bumper jack is mounted behind the spare wheel and tire on the right side of the compartment. See WHEELS AND TIRES for instructions on how to remove and use the jack. Some others were fairly exotic and rarely ordered such as: a tow cable, rear window shades and an automatic battery filler. This latter item was a rather curious affair which consisted of three separate water-filled jars, one mounted into the filler neck of each of the battery cells. As water in each cell was used, it was replaced with water from the jars. It was supposed to maintain correct water two to six months depending on the mileage driven. Ask your Dodge dealer about the complete line of MoPar Protective Materials that will help you keep your car looking like new for years to come. You will find many of these materials described in this manual. |
