DOOR LOCKS AND KEYS:

Keys
The octagonal-handled key operates the door external lock, and the combination ignition-starter switch lock. The triangular-handled key operates the luggage compartment lock. The round-handled key operates the glove compartment lock, if the car is so equipped.

Door Locks
To unlock the doors, insert the key and turn it one-quarter turn towards the front of the car, then return it to vertical. Outside door locks are protected against moisture by a swivel guard. However, moisture may seep in during washing or raining and freeze in cold weather. In many cases, blowing directly into the door lock will provide enough heat to free the lock.

Door Controls
Door controls are easy to operate. To unlatch or open a door from the outside, turn the latch handle downward to release it. To open a door from the inside, simply swing the latch handle to the rear. To lock the doors from the inside, swing the latch handle to its extreme forward position and release. Spring tension will return the handle to its normal position. The inside lock is automatically released with the closing of the door. Furthermore, if one of the doors has been locked from the inside, it may be unlocked from the outside with the key.

Luggage Compartment Lock
A separate key is furnished for the luggage compartment, so that it may be locked whenever desired. The key can be removed from this lock, whether locked or unlocked.

Never leave your car unlocked when unattended.
